Homemade Pizza Pockets Recipe

Busy weeks need easy solutions, and the solution to what to serve for lunch couldn't get easier than homemade pizza pockets. They're simple to make, easy to modify and they even freeze beautifully. Make a few batches and store some in the freezer in case you need a pizza fix!

Things You’ll Need

Step 1: Roll the Dough

Preheat the oven to 475°F. Roll out the pizza dough into a long rectangle.

Step 2: Slice the Dough

Cut the dough into 4-inch-wide strips.

Step 3: Add the Sauce

Add the sauce to one half of the strip, avoiding the outer edge.

Step 4: Add the Toppings

Add the cheese, pepperoni and any other pizza toppings you like.

Tip

Make them your own! Use any ingredients you love on your pizza as the filling of these pizza pockets. Cheese, meat or anything else you'd like will work well.

Step 5: Fold the Pockets

Fold over the empty side and press to seal. If the dough won't seal well, wet the inner edges with water.

Step 6: Poke a Hole

Poke a hole in the top of each pocket to let steam escape.

Step 7: Crimp the Dough

Place the pizza pockets on a baking sheet covered with parchment paper. Press the edges together with a fork to seal them well.

Step 8: Brush the Pockets

Brush the top of the pizza pockets with olive oil and sprinkle them with flaky sea salt.

Step 9: Bake the Pockets

Bake the pizza pockets until the dough has puffed and has turned golden brown, about 10 to 12 minutes.

Tip

Freeze them for later! Once the pizza pockets have cooked and cooled, store them in a freezer bag for up to three months. To reheat, wrap them in a wet paper towel and microwave for 2 to 3 minutes.
