Things You’ll Need

Tip

If you prefer a sweeter pie, add another 1/4 cup of sugar. But if you’d like to cut back on the sweetness, use just 1 cup of sugar (or even less).

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 350° Fahrenheit. In a large bowl, combine the cocoa powder, sugar, flour and salt. Stir until combined.

Step 2

Add the evaporated milk, melted butter and vanilla extract.

Stir until the mixture is smooth and the ingredients are fully combined.

Step 3

Add the eggs. Mix well.

Step 4

Press the pie crust into a pie dish, making sure the edges are secure. You can use a fork to press the edges into place. Carefully pour the chocolate filling into the crust.

Step 5

Bake for 45 to 50 minutes or until the crust is golden brown. Let cool completely before slicing and serving. After the pie reaches room temperature, you can pop it in the refrigerator to chill.

Once cool, enjoy the pie with a dollop of whipped cream and a sprinkle of chocolate shavings.
